Vermont Marble Museum, Proctor Vermont July 2011

There are several huge marble mining quarries in the New England areas.  Everything from sculptures to tire curbs, sidewalks to road curbs, buildings and even street cobble stones and more, are made from marble in this part of the country.  We visited the museum and the city of Proctor.  The marble city was beautiful.  Every city we have been in at least has marble or granite curbs in places!

Watkins Glenn SP, Montour Falls, NY July 2011

The hike up and back was 3 miles.  It was beautiful and cool which is great because 1.5 miles of the hike was a climb up stairs.  Watkins Glen State Park is the most famous of the Finger Lakes State Parks, with a reputation for leaving us visitors spellbound. The glen's stream descends 400 feet past 200-foot cliffs, creating 19 waterfalls along its course. The gorge path winds over and under waterfalls and through the spray of the Cavern Cascade and the rim trails overlook the gorge.
How beautiful but sweet of nature.

Death Defying Rides Over The Falls July 2011

Here are a few of the contraptions that people used to go over the falls.  Some died and those that lived were arrested.  Some even tried it more than once!  No thanks.

Niagara Falls New York July 2011

Words are inadequate to describe these wonderful falls.  Just enjoy the pictures and videos and few words.  The night photos were fun to take and very refreshing because the breeze was blowing the mist toward us and we were really needing the cooling down!
